@ac23AQ Use bentonite clay, or Fullers Earth if you live in the UK. Its the best stuff to use, as it needs to be able to withstand the launch pressures without just falling out of the end.

Careful with grinding KNO3 and sugar together, that kind of pounding (@ 1:25) could set it off.
