the 13b-msp renesis in the rx-8 is a great concept and a nicely updated engine from the OG 13b, but the lets face it… its like the diet coke of what the rx-7 used. if ya’ll know what this engine is about you’ll get my drift.
its not in the wrong place. this is what this engine is all about. due the the port location there is no overlap between the intake and exhaust. you get alot closer and at certin rpms over the 100% VE mark
because of the way the ecentric shafts are manufactured and the engines have to be assembled you would need to make the e shaft in 3 pices to be able to make it work. it has been done. but is very very expencive. googleit there is bound to be some info
Older rotary engines had ports in the rotor housing. Port’s on the new Renesis have been moved to the side housings. the exhaust manifold is hanging in “free space” (for lack of a better word) Where the side housing would be if it wasnt cut away to show the engines inner workings.
Beautifully done Vid BTW…. Fellow rotary fan here.
its possible to put in a 4 rotors… this animation is great…BUT…. the ignition is incorrect… as well as the placment of the exhaust port… it placed on the rotor housing and not the side housing.. the hanging of the exhaust manifold also indicates the mistake

@RotaryPirate I agree, it was an advancement but also set themselves back by not engineering it with 3 rotors and turbo applicable.
Now I want a 3.0 3 rotor hydrogen hybrid with 2 turbos an 350hp an I can drop it in a FD
is it fuel save
NICE

I tought it had some kind of gear beetween the interior of the rotor and the crankshaft.
revolutionary engine

haha
I see that the engine in the video is IRL size.
i have always wondered what the combustion cycle was like in one of these
nice! this engine is cool. THX4theVideo TV.
so whaet they are saying in the firing pattern is that there is no timing between leading and trailing fire patterns?
mmm lovely. <3

why cant they put 4 rotary in it can some1 explain?
OMG… <3
beatifully done
